1). Coal Mine Strike
In this political cartoon, Teddy Roosevelt is on a horse and he is pulling a large rock that is the threatened coal strike. TR is preventing and personally intervening in a labor union issue and he is preventing it from happening. Roosevelt prevents the coal strike from happening and gave the coal miners a ten percent pay increase and fewer work hours.
2). Railroads
In this political cartoon, Teddy Roosevelt is holding a club that reads, "obey the laws." This suggests that he was being forceful and enacting laws that were strict and that would hurt the corrupt politicians financially. Also. there is a man in the back running towards the president and he is asking TR to go easy on him. That man represents the railroads and this shows how they didnt like the new laws because it hurt their business.
3). Conservation
Teddy Roosevelt was a big conversationalist and he set aside a large portion of land to preserve it and make it into national parks. In this photo, TR is standing in front of a large tree and there is a fence around it. This shows how he would save trees from being chopped up from labor companies. He also made preserves for almost extinct animals.
